Trip

I re-did the rotating background theme and made this mix of the old and new style. The backgrounds were way too distracting, taking the attention away from the actual posted pictures and such.

Trip: “A going from one place to another; a journey. / An intense, stimulating, or exciting experience: a power trip”

Trip will be this recurring title, just like ‘Hobo of the week’ once was (2010-come-back…Maus!?), it will contain cool stuff found on the interweb like pictures, videos, music, sites, the usual stuff. Just like people do on Tumblr and Stumbleupon … but then over here.

“We live in a country that seems to be in this massive state of delusion, where the idea of what you are is more important than you actually being that. And it actually works as long as everybody’s winking at the same time. And then if one person stops winking, you just beat the crap out of that person and then they either start winking or they go somewhere else.” Branford Marsalis – Before The Music Dies

Bill Frissell – Little Girl from the album ‘Disfarmer‘. Beautiful record with songs inspired by photographer Michael Disfarmer, it’s amazing how some have a Philip Glass like immensity to them.

The Sixty One named after highway 61, is a website were artists can show and sell their music with the intention to get around the record-deal like payments, making more profit on their sales. Besides that it’s got quite a fancy interface for browsing the music on there.
